Pushkin House Bookshop

The Pushkin House Bookshop is an independent bookshop in London specialising in culture, history, politics, literature and visual arts from contemporary Russia, the Soviet Union and the Russian Empire.

From poetry and politics to cookbooks and comics, whether you’re looking for a niche academic title, a unique arty gift, or you’re just getting started with literature from the region, we’ve got something for you. We work with publishers large and small across the world to bring you the broadest range of titles and our shelves are carefully curated by our Bookshop Manager, who is always happy to offer recommendations (and order in your suggestions!)

Our activities have evolved in response to the war in Ukraine and ongoing debates about what Russian culture – past and present –means. We actively platform Ukrainian literature, history and culture as well as works from Russia, Ukraine and further afield dealing with war, protest and oppression. We endeavour to share narratives from the voices less heard such as women writers, the LGBTQ+ community, and those from Eastern Europe, the Baltics, the Caucasus and Central Asia who have been affected by Russian imperialism.

You can visit us in-person from Monday–Friday 9am–9pm and Saturday 10am–5pm, or browse our full catalogue in the online shop. If you’re not based locally, we can post books all over the world.
