The magic of childhood: allow your own – and your children's – imagination to run wild in an afternoon of song and storytelling with Russia's best-loved children's author, Andrei Usachov. The event will be a chance to meet the voice behind well-loved classic bedtime stories, and to lose yourself in a world of fantastical fairy tales, fable, allegory and the simple wisdom of children's poetry. Away from the digital noise of kids' and adults TV entertainment, families can also enjoy the author's own songs, played and sung by him.
This is the first in the series Meet Your Favourite Children's Author organised with the Russian Children's Library in London as part of the Russian Children's World Literature programme. Andrei Usachov will be signing and presenting to the Library his most recent works, and will also sign any copies of his books that visiting children bring with them.
Andrei Usachov is one of the best-loved writers of children's fiction in Russia. He has written numerous songs for children, he presents several popular radio shows for kids and has won many different prizes and accolades for his contributions to culture and to children's literature.
This event is organised in partnership with the Azbuka Foundation and with the support of the Institute of Translation, Moscow.
