SEASONS OF THE YEAR: TCHAIKOVSKY WORKS FOR VOICE AND PIANO IN AN ANNIVERSARY RECITAL

Concert celebration of Tchaikovsky's 175th Anniversary         

This year we are celebrating 175th anniversary of famous Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

He was born 25th of April 1840 (according to the Russian Old style calendar) in  Votkinsk.

A concert “The seasons of the year” is dedicated to Tchaikovsky and represents his chamber works for voice and piano and piano solo.

Pianist Sholpan Sharbakova and singer Alexia Mankovskaya will perform a selection of  well known pieces such as “In the ball room”, “Whether the day dawns”, “Cradle song”  and “The seasons of the year” (piano solo).

Classical Pianist and Contemporary Artist Sholpan Sharbakova has performed as a soloist and chamber musician, touring her native Kazakhstan, Russia and Europe. She is a laureate of numerous of international piano competitions and festivals. She graduated in 2008 from the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professor Hamish Milne, receiving the Dip RAM, Academy's highest award for performance. Prior her move to London, she graduated with "Honours" from the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music, where she studied with Professor Grigory Gordon.   

Alexia Mankovskaya is prize winning  singer and composer. She gradated from Russian Theatre Academy, where she completed opera singing course and made her first appearance at  Stanislavsky Opera House in Moscow. Since she settle in London she completed MMus at Trinity College of Music, supported by  the Butler and Offenheim scholarships.  Operatic roles performed include Cherubino (Marrige Figaro, Stanislavky Opera Theatre Moscow), Lola (Cavaleria Rusticana, Schloss Leopoldskron Palace, Salzburg), Countess Cheprano (Verdi, Rigoletto, Grange Park Opera), Madam Larina (Tchaikovsky; Evgenie Onegin; Cadogan Hall) Olga (Aghliari Summer Festival; Italy and many others.

Ticket prices include the drinks reception following the performance.
