Fabergé: A Life of Its Own is a documentary charting the rich history behind the iconic luxury brand Fabergé, from the monumental rise of ‘artist jeweller’ Peter Carl Fabergé in the 19th Century to the enduring legacy of Fabergé today. This major cinematic event will offer unprecedented access to renowned private collections, living descendants of the Fabergé family and international Fabergé experts.
In anticipation of its worldwide release on 29th June, this exclusive event at Pushkin House will offer audiences the unique opportunity to see the film before its release in cinemas, and to hear the film's Director, Patrick Mark, in conversation with Russian Art and Culture's founder and editor Theodora Clarke.

Patrick Mark is an award-winning producer, writer and director responsible for more than forty documentary films. Having started his career at Christie's auctioneers (where he established a small film unit), his first independent commission was for the BBC in 1991, being a film that revealed the work of Eric Hebborn, a prolific forger of Old Master Drawings. Since then Patrick's films have documented diverse subjects including Formula 1, Egyptology, Indian culture, Arabian archaeology, the cars of the Maharajas, the conservation of Buddhist art and, live from the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad, coverage of the 2003 'shock and awe' operations.
Patrick won a BAFTA Craft Award for multi-camera direction on Channel 4's Kumbh Mela: The Greatest Show on Earth, a New York Festival Award for One Woman's War, and more recently, three further US festival awards for Fabergé: A Life of Its Own. He has produced documentaries for many broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, Smithsonian Networks, NBC, RTE, RAI, etc. He lives in London with his wife and two children. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Geographic Society and the Royal Asiatic Society; and Chairman of the Trustees of Elephant Family, the Asian elephant charity.
Theodora Clarke is an art historian, critic, lecturer and curator. She is founder and editor of Russian Art and Culture and publishes the guide to the bi-annual of Russian Art Week in London. Theodora is a popular and frequent commentator on Russia and the arts in national and international press including TV, print and radio. She previously worked at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Christie's.
She recently published a book called Boris Chetkov: Re-imagining Russia and she curated Abstraction/Construction for the Maslenitsa Festival in London, as well as an exhibition of contemporary Russian art for Russian Art Week.
