Within the framework of the exhibition at Pushkin House of photographs of the Russian North-West from his new book, Russian Types and Scenes, Richard Davies returns from this summer's visit to the region with more images, more stories, and an update on the formidable grass-roots buildings conservation which characterises the area and is the subject of many of his images.  Illustrated talk, followed by drinks, and a special evening viewing of the exhibition.

Richard Davies works as a photographer. Since 2002 he has travelled extensively in Northern Russia. In 2011 he published his book 'Wooden Churches: Travelling in the Russian North', and just this month, he published its companion volume 'Russian Types & Scenes', which documents the people and places met with during his incredible journey.
