PUSHKIN HOUSE WINE CLUB: Wine in Russia in the 19th century

This event is now SOLD OUT

In the 19th Century, high society in Russia enjoyed the very best that the gastronomic world could offer: oysters, Chablis, Lafite, Chateau d’Yquem, Champagne Ay and Cristal. It gave the world Service a la Russe and its lavish spending helped to develop the traditions even further. But all this was soon to disappear in the 20th Century in the blink of an eye, swept away by the Russian revolution, which led to the creation of the USSR. It would be many years before the old traditions were revived.

So how was it to live in style in 19th century Russia? Come and find out at our next tasting at THE PUSHKIN HOUSE WINE CLUB on Thursday, the 16th February, 19.00-21.00.
