The band "Dobranotch" was set up in 1998 in France where a company of friendsfrom St.Petersburg, was driven by wanderlust and a love of fresh musical experiences. After some years of travels the band returned to St. Petersburg to create a new lineup and a new sound. "Dobranotch" performs Jewish, Gypsy and Balkan traditional music. Their repertoire also includes Russian songs of the golden age of brass bands. Throughout its existence "Dobranotch" has toured more than twenty countries and recorded six albums. Their music has been used on TV, in feature films and documentaries. "Dobranotch" plays all kinds of venue: formal and intimate and open air festivals, this musicians often mingling with the audience, as their predecessors did at weddings in times past. Dobranotch has a strong following in their hometown and Pushkin House is delighted to be hosting them.
