Tribute to Tchaikovsky
Please join us for a London Classical Concert Series event, organised by the London Music Foundation, a newly-established charity with the mission to support young talented musicians.
Commemorating the 125 anniversary of the death of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the programme of the concert includes various masterpieces by the composer, culminating in the Trio op 50, subtitled ‘In memory of a great artist’, in reference to Nikolai Rubinstein.

Dinara Klinton
Pianist Dinara Klinton was born in Ukraine and has completed the Artist Diploma in Performance at the Royal College of Musicunder the tutelage of Dina Parakhina, where she was the first RCM Benjamin Britten Piano Fellow. Prior to this, she was awarded a Master of Performance degree with distinction at the RCM. Upon graduating from the Moscow Central Music School, where she studied with Valery Pyasetsky, she gained her Graduate Diploma with Honours at the Moscow State Conservatory, where she worked with ElisoVirsaladze.
Dinara has won many awards in prestigious international competitions, among them are Third Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition, USA (2016), Third Prize BNDES International Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2014), Second Prize and Special Prizes for the best performance in the Semi-final recital of Chopin and Paderewski at the 9th International Paderewski Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland (2013) and Second Prize at the Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, Italy (2007). She also received the Diploma for the best pianist not to qualify for the Final of the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2015).
Dinara has appeared at many international music festivals including the Progetto Martha Argerich Festival in Lugano, Rheingau Music Festival, Ravello Music Festival, International Festival of Piano La Roque d’Antheron, Chopin and His Europe in Warsaw, Cheltenham Music Festival and the Aldeburgh Proms. Dinara has performed at such venues as Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall in London, Tchaikoivsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Great Hall of Moscow State Conservatory, Berlin Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Warsaw Philharmonic and Tokyo Sumida Triphony Hall. She has worked with orchestras such as The Philharmonia Orchestra, Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Musica Vivaand The Moscow Virtuosi. Her performances have been broadcast by EBU, BBC2, BBC Radio3,All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
Dinara’s debut recording Music of Chopin and Liszt was made at the age of 16 with an American label DELOS. Her second album Liszt: Étudesd'exécutiontranscendante, S. 139 was released in 2016 with GENUIN Classics; the most recent CD was launched in summer 2017 and is a part of renown recording series Chopin. Complete Works on contemporary instruments, released by The Fryderyk Chopin Institute.
Emily Sun
Australian violinist Emily Sun is rapidly gaining international recognition as a rising soloist. She was recently named the 2018 ABC Australian Young Performer of the Year, and was awarded the Gold Medal and named Commonwealth Musician of the Year in the 2016 Royal Overseas League Music Competition in the UK, the first violinist to win the Gold Medal since 1981.
Emily is a prize-winner in the Yampolsky International Violin Competition (Russia), Bromsgrove International Competition (UK), Brahms International Competition (Austria), and the Lipizer International Violin Competition (Italy). She was selected as a Young Concert Artist for The Tillett Trust and Making Music UK.
Emily won the category of ‘Best Newcomer’ in Australia’s classical arts ‘Limelight Magazine Awards’, as the lead role in the acclaimed feature-length documentary ‘Mrs Carey’s Concert’. The documentary was the longest running documentary in Australian cinema history and has been shown in film festivals across the world to excellent reviews.
She made her concerto debut with the East-West Philharmonic Orchestra at age 10, and has since been a soloist with the Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmanian, Queensland and Canberra Symphony Orchestras. She also regularly performs with orchestras in USA, UK, Asia and Europe.
Emily is the ABC Classic FM Artist-in-Residence and a BBC Introducing Artist. Her performances have been broadcast on ABC Classic FM (Australia), BBC Radio 3 (UK), KolHamusica (Israel), and WXQR (USA). She has performed as soloist in international venues such as the Sydney Opera House, Tchaikovsky Great Hall Moscow, Tel Aviv Opera House, Auditorium du Louvre, and Wigmore Hall.
Emily studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Dr Robin Wilson and gained a Bachelor, Masters and Artist Diploma in Music with First Class Honours from the Royal College of Music in London, studying with Itzhak Rashkovksy. Emily was supported by the Australian Music Foundation. She is currently Artist-in-Residence at Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth (Belgium), mentored by Augustin Dumay.
Maria Veretenina
An established coloratura soprano, Maria Veretenina made her debut on the big stage in 2011 at the Finnish National Opera in Boris Godunov, opposite the famous bass Matti Salminen. Since then she has performed in many of the world’s finest music venues including the Mariinsky Theatre, the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia and the Chamber Opera in Vienna.
Maria has been recognized in several international competitions; most notably, she was awarded the Grand Prix of the London Song Festival at the Royal College of Music in 2014 and, that same year, she was a semi-finalist in the London Handel Singing Competition, performing at the Parish Church of St George in Hanover Square in London.
After starting her musical studies in Tallinn, where she graduated in 2010 with a Master’s degree from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, she joined the National Academy of Music Santa Cecilia in Rome, and later undertook practical training at the Vadstena Academy in Sweden.
Maria has also participated in a number of master classes, particularly with Montserrat Caballé, Wilma Vernocchio, Teresa Zylis-Gara, Ingrid Kremling, Maria Acda, Larissa Gergieva, and Peter Woss, amongst others.
Maria’s repertoire is extensive and includes, amongst others, the roles of Cleopatra (Handel, Giulio Cesare), Queen of the Night (Mozart, Die Zauberfloete), Fiordiligi (Mozart, Cosi fan tutte), Zerlina (Mozart, Don Giovanni), Olympia and Antonia (Offenbach, Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Liu (Puccini, Turandot), Lauretta (Puccini, Gianni Schicchi), Musetta (Puccini, La Boheme), Violetta (Verdi, La Traviata), Marfa (Rimsky-Korsakov, Tsars Bride), Xenia (Mussorgsky, Boris Godunov), Tatjana (Tchaikovsky, Eugene Onegin).
Tatiana Chernyshova
Russian cellist Tatiana began cello and piano lessons at the age of 6 and in 2004 went to study at the Moscow Special Music School with Professor Vladimir Tonkha. In 2010 Tatiana moved to the UK to study at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, with Karine Georgian, before completing her Master of Arts under the guidance of Professor Felix Schmidt at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
Tatiana has performed extensively throughout Europe, the UK and Russia as both a soloist and chamber musician. As a member of Southbank Sinfonia 2015 Tatiana performed in the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican, Cadogan Hall and Hong Kong City Hall. As a chamber musician she represented the orchestra at the Anghiari Festival in Italy and performed at the Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Her orchestral experience includes side-by-side projects with the Royal Opera House Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, collaborating with conductors such as Antonio Pappano, Vladimir Ashkenazy, John Wilson.
Tatiana’s Festival appearances include a performance with Yuri Rozum at Kensington Palace, Stockhausen’s Gruppen with London Sinfonietta in Southbank Centre’s The Rest is Noise; a performance of Beethoven’s String Trio with Ana Chumachenko at Palacio de Festivales in Santander and the Russian premiere of Gubaidulina’s Mirage: The Dancing Sun, for eight cellos in the Moscow State Conservatory Great Hall.
Tatiana is a keen chamber musician. She has recently joined the prestigious St John’s Smith Square Yong Artist Programme with Ensemble Mirage. Tatiana made her Wigmore Hall debut in July 2013 as a member of Stella String Quartet. She performed in the Wigmore Hall concert series For Crying Out Loud and gave the UK premiere of Pereria’s Strophe in the Duke’s Hall, RAM. In 2015 Stella Quartet was appointed the Wigmore Hall Learning Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music.
Ilya Kondratiev
A critically acclaimed pianist with varied repertoire, Ilya Kondratiev is the prize-winner of several renowned international music competitions, including Frederyk Chopin Hannover 2011, Franz Liszt Budapest 2011, Franz Liszt Weimar 2011, the Fifth Tbilisi 2013 and Brant Birmingham 2015. Born in Russia, he studied from the age of seven at the Samara College of Music with Victoria Soifer and, from the age of 16, at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with the distinguished teacher and People’s Artist of Russia Zinaida Ignatieva. In 2014 he moved to London in order to further his studies at the Royal College of Music under Vanessa Latarche and Sofia Gulyak, graduating with a Master of Performance and an Artist Diploma in Performance. He also won the Beethoven Senior Intercollegiate Competition in 2015 and the prestigious Chappell Gold Medalin 2016.
Ilya performs extensively as a soloist and chamber music player at venues such as the Great Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Gasteig Munich, Weimarhalle, Palacio de Festivales de Santander, the Palaceof Arts in Budapest and the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Conservatoire. In 2009 he founded a chamber music ensemble Robert Quintet and won top prizes at the Sixth Stasys Vainunas Chamber Music Competition in 2009 and The Premio Vittorio Gui in Florence in 2011.
In 2011 Ilya was invited to work with Elisabeth Leonskaya at the Franz Liszt Piano Academy in Schilllingfurst, Germany and with Pavel Gililov at the Eppan Piano Academy in Italy. He has also performed in the masterclasses of Rolf-Dieter Arens, Dina Yoffe, Konstantin Shcherbakov, Willem Brons, Paul Gulda, Dmitry Bashkirov, Jerome Rose, Leslie Howard, Lang Lang and Arie Vardi.
In 2015 and 2017 Ilya was invited to the “Encuentro” Festival in Santander and in 2016 appeared as a guest artist in the Gumusluk Festival in Turkey, and the Beethoven Music Festival and Academy in Altaussee in Austria.
A recent appearance for the Keyboard Charitable Trust in Cyprus received an ecstatic review from Yvonne Georgiadou, Artistic Director of The Pharos Cultural Centre:
