We are proud to announce the return of Anna Tsybuleva to Pushkin House, triumphant winner of England’s most prestigious piano competition in 2015. This is a rare opportunity to hear ‘a pianist of a rare gifts’ (International Piano Magazine) in London. In addition to Tchaikovsky’s Seasons, Anna will play a selection of works by Frederic Chopin.

Anna Tsybuleva grew up in Nizhniy Arhïz, a small town near the Russian-Georgian border. She started playing piano at the age of six. Her first teacher was her mother, Svetlana Tsybuleva. From 2000 to 2003 Anna studied at the Shostakovich Music School in Volgodonsk (Russia), after which she moved to Moscow to continue her education at the Moscow Central Music School – her teacher there was Professor Lyudmila Roshchina. In 2009 Anna became a student at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and in 2014 she graduated with top honours and ‘the best student 2014’ award. At the moment Anna is a post-graduate student at the Conservatory, while also studying at the Basel Music Academy with Professor Claudio Martinez Mehner.
Anna has performed at a number of international music festivals in Russia, the United States, Europe and Japan. Alongside solo piano recitals, Anna has performed with the Rostov Symphony Orchestra, Saratov Symphony Orchestra, Volgograd Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Odessa Symphony Orchestra under conductors such as Peter Gribanov, Ravil Martynov, Vladimir Khlebnikov, Alexander Zhigaylo, Eduard Serov and Hobart Earle. Anna has performed in Japan with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra under Inoue Michiyoshi and the Takamatsu Symphony Orchestra under Hideaki Hirai. She recently performed Brahms's Second Piano Concerto with the Halle Orchestra under Sir Mark Elder in Leeds.
In 2012 Anna Tsybuleva took part in the International Gilels Piano competition in Odessa (Ukraine), where she won first prize. The same year Anna also became one of the winners of the prestigious Hamamatsu Piano competition (Japan). And in June 2015 she won First Prize at the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition, an award which led to many important engagements both in the UK and internationally. Her future engagements include debuts with the Mariinsky Orchestra and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as appearances in Paris, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and the UK.
