Pushkin House is thrilled to welcome the critically acclaimed pianist Anna Genuishene. A prizewinner of multiple national and international competitions, Anna is rapidly establishing herself on the European scene. Graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, Anna currently resides in London where she studies at the Royal Academy of Music. Her programme includes Prokofiev's monumental Eights Sonata, finished in 1944 and dedicated to his second wife.

Anna Genuishene, piano
Born in Moscow on New Year’s Day in 1991, Anna began her career as a solo performer since the age of six. After the graduation with distinction from the Moscow Conservatory, where she gained her Bachelor’s degree under Elena Kuznetsova, Anna commenced her Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Professor Emeritus Christopher Elton.
The year of 2017 has become a very prosperous for Anna — she received the prizes in the Mauro Monopoli Prize (second prize, Italy) and the Sheepdrove Intercollegiate Competition (first prize/Audience prize, Newbury, UK). Her recent major achievements include Third prize, Junior Academy Prize and Chamber Music Prize at the Feruccio Busoni International Piano Competition (Italy, 2017), one of the oldest competitions in the world. After becoming a semi-finalist of the Dublin International Piano Competition (2018), Anna had taken the First Prize at the Second Orbetello International Piano Competition (Italy , 2018).
Her earlier achievements include the Second prize at the Shostakovich Music Competition (Moscow, 1998), the Grand Prix at the Blüetner International Piano Competition (Kaliningrad , 2006), First Prize at the Shedrin Music Competition (Moscow, 2007), First Prize at “Musika be sienu” International Piano Competition (Lithuania, 2009), First Prize at the Romantic Music Festival for Young Musicians (Moscow, 2010), Second Prize at the “Citta di Padova” Piano Competition (Italy, 2012) and the First Prize at the Maria Yudina International Music Competition (St.Petersburg, 2015). Anna is delighted to have been featured several times in the encyclopaedia “A Talented Youth; The Future of Russia” (2010). As an elected representative of the the Moscow Conservatory she took part in the Kyoto International Music Students Festival in Japan in 2014. In the autumn of 2015 Anna became a soloist at the St Petersburg House of Music, having received an invitation to play in several concerts throughout Russia.
Anna has already performed in concert halls such as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, making her debut with brilliant Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto no.1, the Konzerthaus “Neue Welt”, Schumann's Haus in Zwickau and Chamber Hall of Berliner Philarmonie in Berlin. Her evening recital at Wigmore Hall, one of the most prestigious stages in the world, was highly acclaimed by the audience and international critics.
Being an active participant of the masterclasses, Anna was selected for taking part in the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove (2017) and Imogen Cooper Music Trust (2018) and worked with such renowned artists as John Lill, Ferenc Rados, Imogen Cooper, Kirill Gerstein, Rita Wagner, Klaus Hellwig, Pascal Devoyon, Pascal Roge, Pavel Nersessian, Alexandre Rabinovitch, Steven Osborne.
Being a versatile musician, Anna is a keen player of chamber music. She often plays with her husband, a highly acclaimed pianist Lukas Geniusas, and runs her own festival “NikoFest” in Moscow.
