COSMOS: Cosmonaut Sergei Avdeev in conversation with Iya Whiteley and Dmitry Zamiatin

  • 5a Bloomsbury Square London London, England, United Kingdom (map)

Hero of the Russian Federation Sergei Avdeev speaks to Iya Whiteley, director of UCL's Centre for Space Medicine, and artist Gleb Sobolev.

As part of our new exhibition COSMOS: Reverse Perspective, join artist Gleb Sobolev and scientist Dr Iya Whiteley for a conversation with Sergei Avdeev, former cosmonaut and engineer, who at one point held the record for longest time spent in space, and longest time dilation experienced by a human, and geographer Dmitry Zamiatin, whose work focuses on geographical images and their impact on human development.

The discussion, which will be part-taped in Russian with English subtitles, then with a live audience Q&A with English translation, will range from the effects of space travel on the body to how the experience of leaving our planet changes the way a person sees it.
