Sound as you are

  • 5a Bloomsbury Square London WC1A 2TA United Kingdom (map)

Pushkin House invites you to Sound As You Are, led by sound meditation practitioner Nikita Suyetin on 1 March 2022.

As you are, strong or vulnerable, allow the vibrations of the ancient instruments to be your guide for this evening of bathing in sound. It is a universal language helping to express and evoke emotions, memories and dreams. Just with a single note you can be taken to any moment in time and to any place, real or imagined. Be present and simply watch yourself without judging or analysing.

Nikita started to embrace sound meditations four years ago alongside practising yoga and mindfulness. He felt the therapeutic qualities of sound, something that previously he had only heard about. Following his training in Naad yoga with Leo Cosendai, he is now sharing this way of listening and feeling sound vibrations with others.

For this soundbath guests will be invited to get comfortable by sitting or lying down on yoga mats (not provided, please bring your own or a thick blanket) for a duration of approximately one hour and ten minutes.

The session will start at 7.20pm. We suggest arriving at around 7pm to have a quiet moment before it starts.

We advise that you wear comfortable and warm clothes. Please bring a yoga mat (or a thick blanket), a light blanket, something to rest your head on and maybe an eye mask. Bring no expectations.

Please be aware that due to the unusual sound frequencies used in these sessions, sound baths are not recommended for certain health conditions such as epilepsy, synthetic medical implants and early pregnancy. If you're unsure, please always consult your medical professional first.
