Reading Group

2021 saw the opening of  Pushkin House’s very own physical bookshop in addition to our online store. While it is still being honed and developed, we are keen to highlight literature that inspires, encourages, moves and validates our readers. We also want to amplify the voices, writers and readers that historically didn’t get and, perhaps, still don’t get the visibility, power and appreciation they deserve. Most of all, we want to create a physical (and an online) place for connection where people can come and share their views.

In the spirit of these pursuits, we are delighted to announce the launch of  our new Pushkin House reading group. We invite you to come to our reading group inaugural meeting on Friday 4 February, 4–6pm, at Pushkin House. The meeting will be hosted by  the co-curator of Pushkin House Bookshop, Sasha Padziarei, and our Community Engagement Officer, Alisa Oleva.  After a warm welcome we are hoping to share some ideas on how we plan to move forwards with this group. Your contributions will also be key for shaping the future of the group. What have you been reading? What is reading for you? Are you looking  to broaden your reading horizons and experiment? Fiction or non-fiction? How shall we choose what we are going to be reading? What shall we call ourselves? Together we can decide what shape the reading group will take. Please reserve your place as capacity is limited.
