Artist and pigment maker, Lucy Mayes will explore the colour theory of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) and Icon master Andrei Rublev (1360-1430) through a hands-on workshop. Starting with the raw materials; egg, oil, natural gum and minerals, we will transform them into paint, that the two artists would have historically used. Participants will develop their knowledge of pigments and paint making whilst completing especially designed colour theory diagrams.
The workshop will conclude by testing colours made from materials found by Lucy solely in London. She will share how you can go and find material for yourself.
