POSTPONED: Students of the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Piano Recital

DUE TO ONGOING CONCERNS ABOUT PUBLIC GATHERINGS DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC, THE ORGANISERS AND PUSHKIN HOUSE HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION TO POSTPONE THE EVENT UNTIL THE AUTUMN. WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING NEW DATES SOON.

Founded in 1872, Trinity College of Music (presently Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance) is one of London’s oldest conservatories. Leading students of its keyboard department present a programme of Russian and Soviet composers including Prokofiev and Scriabin’s sonatas.

Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Alina Pritulenko began playing the piano at the age of five. She started performing from the age of seven at the numerous concerts and festivals. Actively took part in many masterclasses and soon became a laureate of the International Competitions such as “Le Muse” in Napoli, Italy and “Iste’dod” in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

In 2008, Alina started her musical education at the Republican Specialized Academic Lyceum of Music named after V. Uspensky. During eleven years of education she studied with professors Irina Arustamova and Umarova Gulnora.

After successful graduation from Uspensky’s Lyceum in all musical subjects, in 2019, she was invited to continue her education at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and was awarded “Alfred and Therese Kitchen” and “Trinity College London” full scholarships and currently studying with the Head of Keyboard Department professor Sergio De Simone.

Celia Herrera Ríos was born in Granada in 1996. She started her musical studies at the age of five. Later, she accessed to the Professional Conservatory of Music "Ángel Barrios" of that city under the direction of Javier Herreros until finishing her professional music studies obtaining the best artistic file of her promotion.In addition, she has received masterclasses from Galina Eguiazarova, Eldar Nebolsin, Luis Fernando Pérez, Joaquín Soriano, Domenico Codispoti and Claudio Martínez Mehner.

She has been awarded in competitions obtaining: First Prize, Special Jury Prize and Grand Jury Prize in the XIV Soloists Competition of the "Ángel Barrios" Conservatory (Granada 2014), First Prize in the Provincial Competition of Musical Interpretation (Granada 2014), Rafael Orozco Award for best Spanish music performer in the"Marisa Montiel" competition (Linares 2015) and Honourable Mention in the Windsor Piano Competition (Windsor, 2019).

She has given recitals in the III Piano Cycle of the "Isaac Albeniz" Conservatory of Cabra, in the Auditorium "Manuel de Falla" of Granada and has been interpreted as a soloist with the neoclassical orchestra of Madrid Mozart's n23 concert.She has also participated in the Kyoto International Music Student Festival 2017 in Kyoto, Japan, representing Spain.

From 2014 to 2018, she studied music at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid under the direction of Pilar Bilbao Iturburu, obtaining the Distinction of her promotion. She is currently a student at Trinity Laban Conservatoire under the direction of Gabriele Baldocci.

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Chelsea Sebastian first began studying the piano at the age of five. She studied under the tutelage of Dr. Kuei Pin Yeo in Jakarta School of Music. Chelsea has also participated in performances such as ASEAN International Concerto Competition,and also regularly performs in various art institutions such as Jakarta Art Building, Goethe Institut, Erasmus Huis, and Institut Francais. Last year she was part of a choir singing for the President of Indonesia to commemorate the opening of a nationwide event, GIIAS 2019. During the summer, Chelsea is a mentor in Jakarta International Summer Music Festival, in her old school.

Chelsea is currently studying in Trinity Laban Conservatoire with Mikhail Kazakevich exploring an array of repertoire, from staple classical pieces to 20th century music. Priorto studying with Mikhail Kazakevich, she studied with Sergio de Simone. Aside from solo studies, Chelsea also enjoys chamber music, performing in a trio with two flutes, exploring lesser known composers such as J M Damase and Madeleine Dring.

Christos Fountos was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1997. He started learning the piano at the age of 5, under prof. Miroslav Gospodinoff. In 2014, he was invited to perform Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto no.2, as soloist in his debut with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra. At the age of 18, Christos was accepted at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where having completed his undergraduate studies, he is now in his 1st year of MA in Performance degree, studying under Philip Fowke and Sergio de Simone. Christos regularly performs in concerts, playing solo piano repertoire,chamber music and vocal repertoire as accompanist. He has performed in venues such as the Wigmore Hall, The Drapers’ hall, Maida Vale Studios, Purcell Room at Southbank Centre, St James’s Piccadilly, St Martin in-the-fields, The Steinway Hall, The Hellenic Centre and the The Old Royal Naval College Chapel in Greenwich. Additionally, he regularly participates in competitions, most recently he was awarded the first prize in the 75th Coulsdon & Purley Festival’s Piano Concerto Competition which will lead him to performances of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto no.3. Christos is currently a Munster Trust and Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholar.

Govind Dhiman was born in 1999 and began to learn the piano at the age of 7 before being awarded a music scholarship at Ashford School in 2011, where he began studying with Stephen Dandridge. In the following year he made his first public appearance at the Kent International Piano Course. Since then Govind has attended and participated in several masterclasses and competitions. In 2013, Govind took first prize at the Kent Piano Festival and was titled Kent Young Pianist of the Year. He was also a finalist in the Marlowe Young Musician of the Year Competition 2015 where he performed variations from Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with the Kent Concert Orchestra at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. The following year he was given third prize at the Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year Competition. In 2017, Govind was awarded the David Gosling Piano Scholarship to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Govind is currently studying for his undergraduate degree under the tutorage of professors Mikhail Kazakevich and Gabriele Baldocci.

Marisa Muñoz-López is a pianist and composer born in Córdoba (Spain) in 1998. Marisa has won four first prizes, two second prizes and one third prize in national and international piano competitions in addition to being awarded the title of Young Pianist of the Year and Edith Steinitz Memorial Prize. Trinity Laban awarded her the Nancy Thomas Prize for Piano in 2018.Marisa is also an award-winning composer. She attained First Place at Ludlow English Song Competition 2017, and First Prize in the Daryl Runswick Competition 2018.Marisa is currently a BMus Joint Study Piano and Composition student at Trinity Laban, studying under Elena Riu and John Thomas.

Born in Italy in 1994, Viola Lenzi started her musical training at the age of five and at the age of eleven she started studying piano at the“Pietro Mascagni”Conservatoire in Livorno, where she completed her Bachelor degree with first-class honours under the guidance of Monica Cecchi and a Master degree in piano performance with Maurizio Baglini. Under the Erasmus+ scheme, Viola came to London in 2018 to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich, where she is currently undertaking her Postgraduate Advanced Diploma under the guidance of Sergio De Simone, thanks to the Beverley Creed Scholarship.Besides participating in many masterclasses and courses given by prestigious pianists such as Micha Dacic, Daniel Rivera, Sergio De Simone, Jeffrey Swann, Pascal Rogé, Martino Tirimo and Megumi Masaki and performing since 2012 as a soloist and a chamber musician for various concert series and public events in Italy, France and United Kingdom.She has been working also as a piano teacher and an accompanist with a number of schools and music institutions both in Italy and in London.
