YOUNG is our special meet-up space and programme for people aged 18-26, a place to explore, imagine and create together with others. Join our monthly meeting to connect with your peers over arts and culture and realise your ideas by hosting your own events with the support of our team at Pushkin House.
This month we are very excited to be joined by Bulgarian-born, London-based choreographer & dance artist Stephanie Handjiiska, who runs the monthly Dancefloor Meditation Session at Pushkin House.
On the YOUNG page you can learn about the projects we’ve created together in the past few months. Sign up to our YOUNG newsletter to stay up-to-date.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Stephanie Handjiiska is a Bulgarian dance artist, choreographer and dance film director with a focus on movement, beauty and socially engaged work. Her work explores identity, immigration, belonging, femininity and capitalism. Stephanie is an alumni of the London Contemporary Dance School, and her work has been curated in forums such as Dance Umbrella, Resolution Festival and ImPulsTanz in Vienna. Stephanie’s dance work is informed by yoga, contemporary dance, gaga, release technique and her own kitchen underwear dances. Stephanie is currently researching Central & Eastern European identity in her project Not a Crab, Not a Fish, and searching for volunteers from the CEE diaspora to be interviewed about their experience around migration and belonging in the UK.
