Do you offer catering?

Can I bring my own caterers?
Of course. We allow external catering at a fee of £75 + VAT
Does your venue have a lift?
Unfortunately not. But look on the bright side, at leat you’ll have leg day covered.
Do you have a disabled access?
We have a ramp, which will allow a wheelchair user access to the Library on the ground floor. However, the toilets are located on a separate floor. As a Grade II* listed building we are very limited to what we can install in our space. We are currently exploring ways we could accommodate everyone.
Will my event be published on your website and social media?
Well we’re flattered, but we don’t publish private hire events. We like to simply let you get on. There are ways you can get involved with our vibrant cultural programme.
Does your Music Room have a projector and a screen?
We don't have a projector in our Music and Function room but we can lend you a 50 inch TV free of charge. How many times have you heard that? We thought so. We have a few connecting cables lying around, but if you want to be safe, bring your own.
Can I have access to the room prior to my booking slot to set up?
There’s so much going on at the House, so access to your hired room is only available from the start time of the session hired. Top tip for a smooth event: make sure to leave plenty of time to set-up and pack-up. You don’t want your guests to arrive to a half set up room. We’ve seen it happen and it’s not pretty.
Can I leave something behind after my event?
If your hire ends with the closing of the House, then items can be collected bright and early the following morning. Make sure you let us know.
Can I get things delivered to your venue prior to my booking slot?
You may be able to get items delivered on the same day, if your hire is in the evening, or the evening before if your hire is in the morning. Again, make sure you find out with us if it’s possible.

Can I show an art exhibition at your venue?
We love art. However, we tend to showcase it ourselves, so pop-up exhibitions in rooms where our own exhibition is on show isn’t allowed. Explore alternative ways you can get involved with our vibrant exhibition programme.
Is there an extra charge for using the piano?
If you are renting our Music and Function room you are very welcome to invite a pianist. The only thing we ask is for guests not to put their glasses on top of the piano. It’s like people touching your hair without asking. Nobody likes that. If you would like the piano to be tuned prior to your event an additional charge of £100 + VAT will apply.
Can I remove art from walls?
If we were to ever give you a definitive ‘No’ it would be now. It is crucial that none of the artworks are removed, rearranged or tampered with during your hire. We know that weddings don’t go so well with propaganda posters, so we advise you to ask and see the space before committing to hire as exhibitions change on a regular basis and what you see in photographs or at the time you visit may not be what is on display at the time of your booking.
Can you arrange waiting staff for our event
Only our late evening slot (5pm - 11pm) comes with one member of staff/helper. If you need additional waiters we can arrange staff at 15+VAT p/h, minimum of 3 hours. There is also always someone from Pushkin House around who can answer your question, but please be considerate with their time. We are all getting on with something.
