VOLUNTEER
at pushkin house
We run a vibrant cultural programme. Every week Pushkin House hosts a range of events, including panel discussions with distinguished authors and thinkers, film screenings, food related evenings, alongside our regular exhibition openings. Volunteers help to staff these events, contributing to the smooth running of our much-loved venue in Bloomsbury by welcoming and assisting visitors to the House and gaining front of house experience.
As the oldest independent Russian cultural centre in the UK, our archive is a big part of our history. Pushkin House was founded in 1954 by a group of Russian émigrés, led by Maria Mikhailovna Kullmann (Zernova). Their aim was to create a welcoming meeting-place with freedom of speech as a core principle. Volunteers also help organise decades of correspondences and ready material for its contemporary use.
