For three days in October 2021 Pushkin House is showcasing the best of recent Russian experimental cinema and artists' moving image, selected by the Moscow International Experimental Film Festival and initially presented during one of its iterations since 2016. Each evening the curator of the festival Dmitry Frolov will present the programme, followed by a short conversation between him and a curator from Pushkin House.

The event takes place on three consecutive evenings - Wednesday 20 October, Thursday 21 October and Friday 22 October. Each programme starts at 7pm and lasts for up to 2 hours.

DAY 2: DREAMLIKE CONNECTIONS

The spread of flexible economic management along with openness and freedom principles accompanied by the revolutionary development of telecommunications has radically transformed humanity and turned the planet into a global village — the home of a connected network society. The more time we spend in virtual spaces, the more our sensibility and cognitive functions change. As a result, our understanding of the environment, both natural and anthropogenic, is changing to include more and more different processes that are often autonomous and independent of our consciousness. Dreamlike Connections consists of films that explore the subtle and complex relationships between the world of affect, biosphere, technological progress, global society, and asks questions about human identities at the intersection of a virtual world with vibrant matter.
