Open House Festival: Guided Tours

  • 5a Bloomsbury Square London London, England, United Kingdom (map)

During the Open House Festival we invite you to join one of our curators on a guided tour around our 18th-century building as well as for a meeting with artist Katya Sivers, who will explore the themes of Sabotage, an exhibition by Office for Comparative Reality.

The building of Pushkin House was designed by Henry Flitcroft (1697–1769) who favoured the Palladian style, emphasising classical features of order and symmetry. We will walk around its spaces and pay attention to various architectural features which evolved throughout its history and reveal both typical and unique characteristics.

Sabotage is an intervention by Office for Comparative Reality into the space of the Pushkin House Bar. It is an unsettling environment exploiting the manipulative nature of media flows, hypertext aesthetics and artificially generated imagery to reflect on the incessant persistence of decentralised militarist propaganda.

We will run two sessions starting at 2pm and 3pm; attendance is free and open to all, but booking is essential.
